Young at Art Christmas party
12.00 – 2.30pm on Monday 10th December

HOP members are invited to the Young at Art Christmas party to celebrate the project so far, meet new people and have a go at some creative activities. Click here to find out more.

Young at Art is a Liverpool City Region-wide arts programme which positions older people as active producers and decision makers in their own creative journey. Through a partnership between FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), Open Eye Gallery and Happy Older People (led by National Museums Liverpool) the project will form a peer-led creative community for older adults, with the ability to shape the city’s cultural offer.

Activities at the Christmas party will include:

  • Ferry Folk film
Local over 60s group, Digital Ambassadors worked in collaboration with photographic artist Liz Wewiora to explore and re-animate the history of our Mersey Ferries and the surrounding areas. With thanks to North West Film archive the group has created their own unique filmed narrative of the city’s rich history.
  • A virtual reality headset activity
  • ‘Grinch Detector’
Sick of Grinchy people ruining the vibes? Just in time for Christmas, make your own electronic sonic Grinch Detector! Work with artist Laura Pullig to make an electronic device that detects light and makes weird noises when the light changes. Your device might detect Grinches, or it might detect something else, it’s up to you!

Refreshments will be provided on the day. Please RSVP to Emma Riley by emailing or call 0151 478 4178. Please let us know if you have any transport requirements.
