Veterans take a ‘Ferry Cross the Mersey’

posted in: News 0

In July a group from Veterans HQ enjoyed a trip on the ferry across the Mersey before a cultural visit to the Museum of Liverpool.

At the museum the group enjoyed a speech about The King’s Regiment from Capt (Retired) Mick Hunt, delivered to the older veterans at the City Soldiers Gallery.

Mick had a long and distinguished career with the Kings Regiment, and he is a former Army Boxing Champion and International Boxing referee. He finished his career as Area Secretary South The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment.

On behalf of Veterans HQ, Joe Darroch BEM thanked Mick: “On behalf of Veterans HQ I would sincerely like to thank Mick for giving up his time last Thursday. The delivery had confidence , knowledge, style and was enjoyed by all.”

After the museum visit the veterans went on to the White Star in Liverpool for a buffet and refreshments.

The next cultural visit is scheduled for 16 August and will include a visit to Liverpool ‘pals’ memorial and Chester Castle and Military Museum.
