Healthiness would like to offer you the opportunity to train and deliver a new and exciting programme aimed at increasing physical activity levels for less able older adults.
What is Active Bingo?
Active Bingo is a new, fun and innovate way to increase physical activity/exercise with those in the community who may not be currently participating in any exercise. Active Bingo works in a similar way to regular Bingo, participants are given a bingo card and a marker pen, the only difference is this Bingo card has picture actions on it instead of numbers.
The instructor calls out an action and after a short demonstration the participants then copy the action to the music, when you have crossed off all the actions you have a Full House and you are the winner!
As well as a great way to increase activity levels Active Bingo participants are also able to sing-along to their favourite songs and have fun and social interaction along the way.
Sessions are totally bespoke and tailored to the needs and abilities of your group and can last anywhere from 30-60 minutes in duration.
Active Bingo Training is also available for people looking to deliver in their community or with their current service users. The training course last 2.5 hours and covers the following;
- What is Active Bingo, benefits and rationale
- Teaching points, managing a group, timings and suggested play lists
- Adaptations, progression
- Health & safety, paperwork, monitoring
The cost is £150 per person and includes everything you need to deliver your Active Bingo sessions as well as certification, manual and on-going support from Healthiness Ltd. Discounts are available for block bookings.
Regular training sessions are run at Toxteth Town Hall so please get in touch if you would like details of the next session.
