The Daniel Adamson

posted in: News 0

The Daniel Adamson is a 1903 Steam Ship run mainly by volunteers offering cruises from Liverpool and Ellesmere Port. Our team of volunteers crew the ship, give guided tours to tourists and talks on its history to groups and schools. The Danny team also have a workshop at Sandon Dock in Liverpool where they work hard to maintain the ship and work on the engines. In addition we have a team who co-ordinate the training and fundraising and also manage the shop and café aboard. The Danny has been an important restoration project, saving the historic ship from being scrapped with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund.

We are looking for more volunteers to join our team especially if you can help to run the café and meet and greet tourists in Liverpool or Ellesmere Port. Full training and support is given and role descriptions are available. We also need people who may have engineering experience and may have worked on ships in the past. We offer induction days and a chance to get a feel for the project before you decide if it’s for you. Our 2017 cruises will be starting in April and we will be cruising along the Manchester Ship Canal, The River Mersey and The River Weaver as well as having static days in berths and taking part in all events at Albert Dock which are always busy with lots of things to do.
