New memory café ‘Down Orrell Hey’ gets off to great start

posted in: News 0

The Orrell Trust is a small grass roots charity in Bootle. The charity recently launched a new memory café launched to support anyone living with dementia or memory loss.

The group enables people who are living in similar circumstances to meet on a regular basis. The café will provide social interaction, stimulating activities and the chance to meet new friends.

Some of the group activities provided will include: gentle exercise, games, sing-alongs, arts and crafts and memory box workshops. At the first couple of meetings they have enjoyed puzzles, card making and just getting to know each other as well as having hot crumpets or toasted teacakes with a brew!

The group will run on the last Friday in every month (unless stated) 10 till 12pm. The address is: The Orrell Trust, St John and St James Church and Community Centre, 71 Bailey Drive, Bootle. L20 6EX
