New Liverpool Reconnect groups programme

posted in: News 0

Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton’s Liverpool Reconnect groups meet regularly at a variety of venues across the city. They give people over 65 the opportunity to meet new people, increase their independence and confidence, and have fun reconnecting with their local community.

Sarah Koo, Liverpool Reconnect Volunteer Organiser says: “We’re delighted to announce our new and expanded social and interest groups programme for July to September 2019.

“We know transport can sometimes be a barrier for people wanting to access groups and trips and would be keen to hear from any organisations in Liverpool who may be able to help.”

In September 2018 Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton launched a new Befriending and Re-ablement service called Liverpool Reconnect. Residents of Liverpool local authority who are aged 65+ and feel lonely or socially isolated can access the service for free.

Sarah said: “We are also looking for anyone who feels they might like to volunteer with the Liverpool Reconnect groups. All we ask is that you can commit to one hour a week to ensure that someone who is vulnerable gets the help and support they need.”
