Great news! Sefton is now a member of the UK Age Friendly Network, after submitting a joint application in partnership between The Sefton Older Persons’ Forums and Sefton Council.

Sefton Older Persons’ Forum has recently created a ‘Leaflet Against Loneliness’ after a forum member came up with the idea.

Justine Shenton, Sefton Older Persons’ Forum Coordinator, said: “This venture started as an idea of one of our forum members who wanted to make sure that older people are connected with local clubs and activities when they have had a stay in hospital.  We have been delighted to help him produce a short leaflet which has been funded by a local Rotary Group.”

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital Trust have agreed to give out the ‘Leaflet Against Loneliness’ via their discharge planning team, and an official launch took place on 18 May at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital sites.

The leaflet is Sefton and West Lancashire focussed and contains the contact details of some key groups in the borough.

If you would like a copy of the leaflet or more information, please contact Justine Shenton by emailing justine.shenton@seftonadvocacy.org
