Knowsley Libraries offer a range of activities to older audiences across the region in a number of different library locations.

Tea & Tech: Struggling to get the best from your laptop or mobile device? Join one of our regular groups across Knowsley for support and tips from fellow users and have a cup of tea/coffee while you’re here. Maybe you have some experience that could help other group members? (It is also possible to take your smartphone, tablet or other mobile device into any branch at any time with your query. If staff are available to advise at the time, they will do their best to help).

Reading Group: Love reading? Like sharing good books? Come and join one of our friendly, informal reading groups in Knowsley where you can relax and talk about books with other group members.

Knit & Natter: Knitters of all levels are welcome to join our friendly groups at Halewood and Huyton where we enjoy chatting and socialising with a nice cuppa as you knit!

Art Group:  We are an informal, self-led art group who like to paint using a variety of mediums. We welcome members of all levels, from beginners to more experienced artists. We meet weekly at Halewood library and we provide our own materials. Come and join us!

Sewing Bee: Open to all ages and abilities. Friendly, helpful group at Huyton library. Start your own project/make a gift to take home. Meet new people and learn new skills whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea/coffee. All materials are provided.

Tea & Topic Chat Group: Weekly discussion group at Huyton library. Relaxed and informal, we chat about anything under the sun! If you’d like to make new friends and enjoy a good chat, come along to our welcoming and friendly group. Topic is usually picked on the day, and refreshments are provided.

Silver Club: Come along to our weekly social group in Kirkby library for older people. Enjoy a spot of knitting and a good chat. We also have a fun quiz each week on a different topic.  All with a biscuit and a nice cup of tea.

Women in Health: Activity group for women over 50 meeting at Kirkby library. Days out, theatre visits etc. Enjoy a cup of tea and a chat. Come along to take part, and maybe bring your own ideas for activities. For further information call Josie on 0151 548 4892

Craft Group: Popular craft groups at Prescot and Stockbridge Village libraries. For adults of any age/gender who are keen crafters whether beginners or experienced. We welcome people who are interested in any type of craft from needlework, patchwork, knitting, crochet, appliqué – the list goes on! Those who are more experienced in a particular craft are always happy to help beginners and there is often an exchange of ideas in the group with individuals helping to teach each other new skills. Check with the library in advance as these groups can be oversubscribed.
