Below is a list of our free Social Clubs in Liverpool for people aged 65 and above. All of our events are hosted by people in their twenties and
thirties who want to meet you and hear your stories. Share your skills and learn new ones, all while making new friends in your community!

Please call Abbie on 0151 659 1789 to book your place on any of these clubs. Some clubs have limited space, and it’s important that we know who’s coming along! You can also call if you’d like any more information or if you are unsure how to get to the clubs from your home.

Tuesday 7 January, 11am – 1pm: Bread Making Class
Kensington Bread Company, 49 Holt Road, Liverpool, L7 2PN

Learn how to make perfect sourdough bread with the help of resident baker Owen and your younger neighbours! At this community bakery
you’ll bake some of Owen’s pre-prepared dough so you have a lovely warm loaf to take away with you. You’ll also make your own bread
dough from scratch to take home and bake yourself. You will also made lovely pittas and flatbreads to try, to show just how versatile the dough is! There are VERY limited numbers at this social club, so please call Abbie to register your interest and put your name in the lottery.

Thursday 9 January, 5 – 7pm: Quiz and cuppa night – Wavertree
Bean There Coffee Shop, 376 Smithdown Road, Liverpool, L15 5AN

Let’s get quizzical! Get your thinking caps on for this social club at our cosy new venue on the corner of Penny Lane. Let’s see who’s got the
knowledge to win top prize! We’ll even have a special bonus round on the environment to stick to our green-themed January. Feel free to just
sit back and enjoy a cuppa if you don’t fancy quizzing.

Sunday 12 January, 9 – 11am: RSPB Walk – Sefton Park
Main Cafe in the centre of Sefton Park, Liverpool, L17 1AP

Chris Tynan from the RSPB will be guiding this nature walk, telling us all about the different types of bird we can find in Sefton Park. We’ll have some bird seed, to see if we can tempt any feathered friends. This club has limited numbers, so please call Abbie to register your interest and  have your name put into the lottery.

Sunday 12 January, 4 – 7pm: Film Club – City Centre
Outpost bar, 77 Renshaw Street, Liverpool, L1 2SJ

Come along and enjoy a free drink and a movie with your younger neighbours at this cool city centre bar. As it’s our green month, we will
have some documentary options thrown in with our normal lot, and you can vote for what you like the sound of!

Monday 13 January, 6 – 8pm: Poetry Workshop – City Centre
Central Library, William Brown Street, Liverpool L3 8EW

Find your voice at this poetry workshop – absolutely no experience necessary! You and your younger neighbours will listen to some spoken
poetry and get creative, having a go at making your own verses with the help of our master poet David.

Saturday 18 January, 11am – 1pm: Clothes Repair Workshop
Tusk Baltic, Cains Brewery Village, 5 Mann Street, Liverpool L8 5AF

Got any old jeans and jumpers in your wardrobe that need a little TLC, but you can’t bear to bin? Bring them along to our repair workshop, and learn how to mend and fix those holes and rips. Learn all about fast fashion, and how to be more eco-friendly and fashionably green with
your shopping habits.

Sunday 19 January, 10 – 12pm: Litter Pick – Sefton Park
Main Cafe in the centre of Sefton Park, Liverpool, L17 1AP

Do your bit this January by combining a lovely winter park walk with a litter pick! Clean up the paths and fields, and get to know your
neighbours at the same time. We will provide bin bags and litter grabbers, you just need to wrap up warm!

Monday 20 January 6 – 8pm: Desert Island Discs – Anfield
Kitty’s Launderette, 77 Grasmere Street, Anfield, L5 6RH

This community space/launderette will open it’s doors to our group for a special eco-themed desert island discs! Think about a song which
reminds you of “the colour green” and share it with the group while we play everyone’s songs aloud. Feel free to join in with some singing, or
sit back and just enjoy everyone else’s musical choices. We will also learn about how this launderette offers “eco dry cleaning” options to do
their bit to help the environment.

Thursday 23 January, 12 – 2pm: Boccia with Danny – Penny Lane
Penny Lane Development Trust, 70 Penny Lane, Liverpool L18 1BW

Younger neighbour Danny is running this simple and fun way to stay active! Boccia is an indoor, seated version of bowls, so anyone can
play! Try your best to get your ball nearest to the jack target, at this relaxed afternoon social club. Beginners absolutely welcome.

Friday 24 January 12 – 2pm: Business Visit – City Centre
Brabners, Horton House, Exchange Flags, Exchange Street East,
Liverpool, L2 3YL
This month’s “back to work” visit is to Brabners Law Firm, based in the Exchange flags in the heart of the business district. You will meet staff,
enjoy a walking tour of their offices, and there will be time to sit and chat to everyone about their roles and ask any questions you might
have about what it’s like to work in a law firm.

Saturday 25 January, 12 – 2pm: Technology Workshop – City Centre
Quaker Meeting House, 22 School Lane, Liverpool, L1 3BT

Bring along your phones, tablets and computers to learn new tips, troubleshoot any problems you might have and chat all things gadgets
with your tech-savvy younger neighbours. We will do our best to answer all of your questions and leave you feeling more confident with
your technology!

Tuesday 28 January, 2 – 4pm: Visit to Farm Urban – City Centre
Liverpool Life sciences UTC (formerly the Contemporary Urban Centre), 41 Greenland Street, Liverpool, L1 0BS

“Farm urban” produce low cost food in a sustainable and cost-effective way, and have been farming lovely greens in Liverpool since 2014. They farm in a basement, and vertically (!), so this visit will be a really interesting insight into modern day growing in big cities. Find out more
about their “greens for good” project at this afternoon visit.

Thursday 30 January, 6 – 8pm: Craft Club – Kensington
Kensington Community Learning Centre, 291-299 Kensington, L7 2RG
Go green at this month’s craft club, where we will be creating our own fabric bags to take away! Make sure you always have it tucked in your
pocket or handbag, so you’ll never have to buy a plastic bag again!
