Holiday at Home programme in Formby

posted in: News 0

Formby Luncheon Club in partnership with The Formby Befriending Project and Churches Together, has organised a two week Holiday at Home programme for older people living in the Formby area.

The programme consists of activities, entertainment and outings plus light refreshments.

Often older people feel the lack of interesting things to do in the month of August.  Many groups have a break over this period and our Luncheon Club closes to give our volunteers the chance to have a break.  Family members may be on holiday too.

The Holiday at Home programme aims to give local older people a holiday experience without having to go away.  These events and activities aim to help tackle loneliness and isolation in the summer holidays.

The Formby holiday at home scheme is open to residents of the Formby/Hightown areas only. The programme feels that the project is such a wonderful idea that HOP members may wish to replicate the idea in their area.
