The Liverpool Cares Winter Wellbeing project helps older neighbours aged 65+ stay warm, active and better connected during the colder months of the year. This project is run by our Outreach Coordinator, Rachael Treacher, who delivers warm items to older neighbours across Liverpool between October and March.
During February, we’re there will be two Winter Wellbeing Warm Item Pop-Up events where anyone over 65 can come along and pick up free warm items.
There will be limited quantities of a range of items available, such as gloves, scarves, hats, blankets, hot water bottles and thermos flasks. If you plan to come along and are in need of a particular item, please call Rachael ahead of the event and where possible they can pop an item or two on hold for you!
Rachael will be at two different community venues on the following dates;
- Wednesday 12 February 11.30am – 2.30pm – Lee Valley Pensioners Club, Lee Valley Millennium Centre, Childwall Valley Road, Liverpool L25 2PR (bus route: 79)
- Friday 28 February 1pm – 4pm – Kitty’s Launderette – 77 Grasmere Street, Liverpool L5 6RH (Bus routes: 26, 27).
There’s no need to book onto either of these events if you’d like to come along, please just feel free to drop in for a chat with Rachael and to collect a free warm item.
Liverpool Cares would like to encourage you to tell anyone over 65 who might be struggling to stay warm this winter about the Winter Wellbeing project, and if you can’t come along to one of the pop-up events but would like a warm item, then give Rachael a call on 0151 659 1789.
