MDI’s Dance for Health classes have been on a short break over the summer and will be returning at the end of August.
It’s been proven that dance can boost wellbeing not only through the benefits of exercise but by giving people a chance to learn something new, enjoy the freedom of movement and feel included in a group. MDI works with health sector partners as well as other arts organisations to carry out our work in the community – and the experiences they help create are truly remarkable.
For over 50s, they offer weekly classes both for men and women. Men! Dancing! and 50 Moves return from 27 and 28 August, at just £4 per class.
There are also classes for those living with Parkinson’s and Dementia. Dance for Parkinson’s in collaboration with English National Ballet on Thursdays from 12 September and Physiotherapy Through Dance, a free 12 week course designed for those living with Dementia, in collaboration with The Brain Charity (currently held at the Alive Centre in Kensington).
All classes are open level, and no dance experience is required.
MDI is located on Hope Street, easily accessible by foot, public transport or car. The studio is located on the ground floor and accessible to all.
