Fancy making your own Op Art wallpaper?

To celebrate the pioneering artists featured in Liverpool’s Op Art in Focus exhibition, this four-week hands-on practical course will explore some of the design principles behind the 1960s psychedelic movement.

Exploring the characteristic geometric shapes, rhythm, repetition and optical illusions, printmaker Colette Whittington will guide you through the process of making your own eye-popping block printed wallpaper. From design development to making a wood block and using a half-drop repeat to print your patterns, this course is designed to be playful and fun and a perfect introduction to repeat printmaking. No prior printmaking experience is necessary, all abilities are welcome.

The course will run on Saturday 11, 18, 25 May and 1 June from 10.30am – 4.30pm at the Clore Learning Studio, Tate Liverpool. Admission is £150, £120 concession. Advanced booking is essential.
