In 2017 Liverpool Carers Centre for a ‘HOP Pot’ grant and received a sum of money to develop a craft group for carers to attend. They have provided an update on the group to share with HOP members.
Maryam Rahman-Paul, Health and Wellbeing Coordinator at Liverpool Carers Centre said: “Our craft group has grown and grown since receiving the grant to purchase initial stock to help us start crafting. We initially started off with basic mosaic craft, needle felting and collage. We have developed our skills into wet felting having made small vessels and beads.
We have developed the mosaic work having up cycled kitchen trays and terracotta pots for the garden. We are also exploring lino printing, stone painting, card making, knitting, and marbling.
“The group has grown in number and is full of friendly individuals there is strong sense of friendship and enjoyment in the air as the carers get together to either teach each other a new skill or relearn an old one.
“Our craft group is held every week on a Thursday morning. If you are a carer, then Liverpool Carers Centre may be able to support you in your role.
