MDI: Dance for Parkinson’s

MDI’s Dance for Parkinson’s programme is back, from 20th April – 22nd June in partnership with the English National Ballet.

The programme will be led by Jennifer Hale and Stephen Mannings and will explore the music of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The programme also features a visit to the world premiere of Pepperland.

Pepperland is an overture created by choreographer Mark Morris for Sgt Pepper at 50, and will be performed by Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG), with an original score by composer Ethan Iverson performed live by the MMDG Music Ensemble in an unprecedented sextet of voice, theremin, soprano sax, trombone, and two keyboards.

Pepperland is presented by Liverpool City Council as part of Sgt Pepper at 50 – marking the 50th anniversary of the release of The Beatles’ ground-breaking album. 13 Tracks. 13 events. One City.

Pepperland will be performed at the Royal Court, L1 1HL from 25 – 27 May. Performance times can be viewed here.
