Christian Council on Ageing – Conference Tuesday 17 October

The Christian Council on Ageing Conference takes place on Tuesday 17 October from 1.30pm – 4.30pm at the Quaker Meeting House, 22 School Lane, L1 3BT.

This year’s conference will allow time to consider the joy of human creativity which can be expressed in many forms. The aim of the conference is to consider how we can engage older people with the creative and artistic arts to enhance worship through participation, arts and spirituality.

Engaging older people in art, literature, drama and much more is beneficial to all aspects of life and the broadness of this conference attempts to give those interested a taste for engaging in new and vibrant ministries.

Sally Laws & Dawn Cunliffe from Liverpool Adult Learning Services will share their broad experience in various ‘arts’, their impact and therapeutic benefits to older people and how we can help older people widen their imagination.

Speakers from the Reader Organisation will also bring their depth of knowledge and insight through Imaginative Reading & Poetry.

Hannah Browne is a Family Mission Specialist for the Salvation Army and will lead us through a session on ‘Godly Play’ for older people. This session will show the simplicity of story-telling and the benefits of this.

This conference is for anyone concerned with helping older people to develop their spiritual lives whether in the context of day centres, clubs, residential homes or churches.

Tickets are £6 each and for more information contact: johnwlansley@gmail.com 0151 733 449
