Cinema, Memory & Well-Being

Lisa Shaw from the Univerity of Liverpool is looking for groups of older people who might be interested in taking part in a  free of charge ‘Cinema, Memory and Well-Being’ event.

The event will involve clips of films showing scenes of Liverpool and the surrounding area from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as of musical comedy films from the 1940s and 1950s starring the likes of Carmen Miranda, the so-called ‘Lady in the Tutti Frutti Hat’.

The audience will be able to enjoy revisiting their memories of cinema-going, the city and famous Hollywood film stars, sharing their reminiscences with others over a cup of tea, and even trying on a tutti-frutti turban as worn by Carmen Miranda herself!

If you are interested please contact Lisa on lisa.shaw@liv.ac.uk or 07790 365788.
