Recent collaborative photography project, Life Beyond Diagnosis, saw photographer Tadhg Devlin and the dementia network group SURF come together to explore what it really means to live with dementia as an individual. The project was commissioned and supported by Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool and Merseycare NHS FT.
The project resulted in a whole new body of photographic works, which have been combined together in an informative and free newspaper. For Dementia Awareness Week, Open Eye Gallery and Mersey Care NHS FT are distributing the newspaper across the city; in local community centres, health centres and libraries, even some shopping centres! Keep an eye out for these newspapers over the next coming weeks!
We are also interested in anyone who would like to receive a number of newspaper packs so we can arrange distribution to them. If you are part of a community or health centre who think your residents/ service users would be interested in the project and finding out more about breaking down the stigma of living with early onset dementia, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0151 236 6768.
