Liverpool Adult Learning Service (ALS) has been providing local people with education, training and support for numerous years; always adapting and changing to meet the ever changing needs of Liverpool’s people and communities.
They are now part of a new venture ‘Liverpool Learning Matters’ looking at the impact Community Learning can have on people’s wellbeing and they need you to get involved.
The ALS are looking for volunteers who may experience things like low mood, stress, poor sleep or feeling isolated which is impacting negatively upon their health and wellbeing and want to do something about it.
If this sounds like you or someone you know then perhaps joining one of the FREE 6 week wellbeing courses is for you.
All of the courses hold a focus on improving wellbeing whilst learning something new or developing an existing skill or interest. Courses include but are not limited to:
- Lifting mood through Creative Writing
- For the Love of Lyrics
- Local History Walks for Wellbeing
- Relaxation through Art
- Building a Calm & Confident Mind
Learning can help us develop, build our confidence and provide us with a productive and meaningful role in our lives. This project however not only stands to benefit you, but your community too as the outcomes of this research will inform how community services are delivered and funded in the future in your city.
Becoming a volunteer is easy, just give us a call on 0151 233 1610 to speak to one of the friendly team or email Sally.Laws@Liverpool.gov.uk to arrange an initial meeting with one of the team or simply find out more.
