North West Urban Projects have launched Liverpool’s first Mens Shed at the 3rd Floor, Gostins Building, Hanover Street, Liverpool, L1 4LN
‘Shed Club’ is a community workshop where people are free to come and use the space for hobbies, being creative or running a ‘micro-enterprise’
The space is equipped with a wide variety of tools and equipment. It has large electric tools and small hand tools with different spaces for woodworking, painting and assembly. There is also a stained glass workshop on site.
Shed Club is based on the ‘Men’s Shed’ idea and will be open every weekday to men of all ages and backgrounds. It is the first of its kind in Liverpool and we will open more workshops across the city with a wider variety of facilities, such as; bike workshop, arts & crafts, metalworking, etc.
Men’s Sheds are growing in popularity, with over 200 now open or in the planning stages in the UK. For more info, see www.menssheds.org.uk
Members are free to come and use the workshop, tools and equipment for any purpose, such as;
- their hobby
- repairing household items
- furniture making or restoration
- running a small business
If you would like to become a member of Liverpool Shed Club or have any questions, please phone or text 07749828811 or email your details to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Alternatively, you can just turn up and see if it’s the right type of environment for you!
Membership is free, but we are accepting voluntary contributions as this will enable us to expand the existing space and open more sites across the city. There will be a negotiable fee for any members that want to run a business or micro-enterprise from the premises.
