Australia’s youngest oldest dance company is touring to the UK and will visit Liverpool on 25th September.
The GOLD Company, a group of over 55s who love to move, laugh, create and perform, are visiting 7 cities in 3 weeks and working with over fellow mature-age dance groups across the country. Established by Canberra Dance Theatre, directed by Liz Lea, The GOLD Company is one of Australia’s youngest dance companies – filled with the young at heart. They have a well-earned profile as a company synonymous with quality, enquiry and humour. Their tour to the UK is an example of their free, fun-loving spirits – self-funded with love and passion for the dance and communication.
They will be performing with MDI in an international celebration which features many Liverpool dancers at the Bluecoat on Friday 25 September. Featured companies and dancers include:
The GOLD Company – Canberra, Australia; Grand Gestures Dance Collective – Gateshead, 50 Moves – Liverpool, Growing Older (Dis)Gracefully – Liverpool, Bisakha Sarker – Liverpool and Marple Movers / Laughing Knees, Stockport. They will come together in this mixed bill to share exciting new dance work from around the world in a range of styles featuring choreography from Liz Lea, Bisakha Sarker, Jennie Hale, Maxine Brown, Paula Turner and the dancers themselves.
Ticket details are available on the MDI website.
