Christmas in Liverpool

There’s a range of fantastic arts and cultural events with a special Christmas sparkle happening over the next weeks, all suitable for individuals or groups and particularly for adults and older people. Here’s just a selection:

At the theatre, there’s Michael Starke in Scouse of the Antarctic, on at the Royal Court until 17th January (call 0870 787 1866 for box office). Following the success of the Playhouse’s Moliere adaptations by Roger McGough, local playwright Stephen Sharkey adapts Feydeau as Sex and the Three Day Week, a 70s set comedy which runs until 10th January. At the Everyman there’s the now traditional rock ‘n’ roll panto Little Red Riding Hood (call 0151 709 4776 for the Everyman and Playhouse box office). At the Philharmonic, tickets are selling out fast for all the gorgeous Christmas themed music performances, but some are still available, including for Let It Snow with the Liverpool Welsh Choral and a matinee screening of It’s A Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve.

If you still haven’t finished your shopping, the Winter Arts Market at St George’s Hall on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December is a magical event which offers you the chance to support local artists and makers. And we can personally vouch for the cakes, which are always fantastic! Find out more here.
